Follow these steps to create persistent links to articles in the New York Times newspaper:
Start at the A-Z Databases page:
- Go to The New York Times newspaper. You will need to sign up for a subscription to get in. Do so here.
- Search for a topic and find an article you like.
- Click on the share (curved arrow) icon.
- Select and copy the URL. NOTE: The New York Times newspaper does not authenticate through the remote access proxy server. Students must have their own subscription to the NYT to see the article. They can sign up for free here.
Then go to your Canvas shell:
- Within a text editor box, paste in the persistent link, OR
- Within a Module, create a new External Link and paste in the persistent link as the URL. Make sure to check the box for the Load in a new tab option. Why?
