Follow these steps to create persistent links to materials in the CQ Researcher database or the CQ Encyclopedia of American Government database:
Start at the A-Z Databases page:
- Go to the CQ Researcher database. (The following procedure also works for the CQ Encyclopedia of American Government)
- Search for a topic and find an article you like.
- Click on a title to bring up the record.
- Find icon for Get Link in right-hand margin. Click it to get the page permalink.
- Copy the URL. The Library's remote access prefix is included. Make sure you copy the whole thing.
Then go to your Canvas shell:
- Within a text editor box, paste in the new persistent link, OR
- Within a Module, create a new External Link and paste in the new persistent link as the URL. Make sure to check the box for the Load in a new tab option. Why?
