Students: Library Study Rooms

Study Room R204There are four group study rooms available on the main floor of the Library, each having a whiteboard, wall-mounted monitor, and a table with six chairs. 

How to reserve a group study room:

Student study rooms are available on a reservation basis for groups of two or more.

  • Book a group study room here (https://sdcity.libcal.com)
  • Go to the Circulation Center desk to check in with your current student ID.
  • A staff member will unlock the door.

How to use a study room:

  • Group study rooms are to be used for studying only. They are not for conferences or tutoring by faculty, staff, or private individuals.
  • During peak usage periods, group study room use may be limited to 2 (two) hours.
  • A group can only use a room one time per day
  • No food or drink are allowed in the LRC, including inside the group study rooms.

Anyone who fails to comply with the above rules or LRC and campus policies may be asked to leave the room and may be restricted from future use of group study rooms.

To reserve a room, please follow these two steps:

  1. Contact Daniel Gonzalez (dgonzale@sdccd.edu) at (619) 388-3869 make a reservation for a conference/training room.
  2. Contact the Office of Classroom Technology Management at (619) 388-3418 for instructions on how to use the media equipment available in R108. You must be trained on the equipment before you can use it. Internet connectivity and audiovisual support are available upon request. Please provide all details for software and/or equipment needs when making a reservation.

Room Descriptions:

  • Room R-108, Teleconference/Presentation Room. Seats up to 14 people around one large conference table. Whiteboard, overhead digital projection system, videoconferencing equipment, and Internet connectivity available.
  • Room R-205, Meeting Room. Seats up to 6 people around one table. Whiteboard available. Wall-mounted monitor with cables for laptop connection available. 
  • Room R-301, Group Training Room. Seats up to 15 people at computer workstations, plus one instructor station. Whiteboard, overhead digital projection system, and Internet connectivity available. R-301 has NetSupport software for control of all workstations, including turning on/off, locking/unlocking down screens, and projecting sample screens on user workstations.
