About CitySITE -- Professional Development

CitySITE, Support for Integration of Technology in Education, is the college's faculty and staff training center. The mission of the center is to empower faculty and staff to evaluate, learn about and use new and existing computer technologies. The center provides faculty and staff with resources to prepare materials for class, conduct online research, learn new software, process email, etc. CitySITE is primarily used for training sessions scheduled by entities not related to the LRC.

CitySITE is located on the lower level of the Learning Resource Center in R101.

CitySITE Equipment List and Book Collection

CitySITE (R101) contains the following equipment and books for faculty/staff use:

  • Fifteen computers (PC & Mac)
  • VCR
  • TV monitor
  • Two scanners
  • Transparency maker
  • Scantron reader
  • Facsimile
  • A small collection of books related to CitySITE activities is available in a wood cabinet at the far end of the room. You may also search the library catalog for materials shelved in this location.

Training Available

SDCCD Online Learning Pathways offers instructional design and training for faculty teaching online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses. Here are some options for self-paced training:

  • @One Project offers self-paced training, in addition to workshops, webcasts, institutes, research, and more. Some is free, and some is fee-based.
  • (Virtual Training Center) is a repository of online videos for various software packages. See the website for access information (a login code is needed).
